Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin Join Western Conservative Summit Speakers
Article by: Jim Czupor
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), a potential presidential candidate in 2016, and former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin have confirmed they will speak at the 2014 Western Conservative Summit.
The announcement was made today by John Andrews, director of the Centennial Institute which has hosted the Western Conservative Summit annually since 2010. This year’s Summit convenes July 18 - July 20 at the Hyatt Regency Denver hotel, 650 15th Street in downtown Denver.
Andrews said more than 2,000 delegates from 30 states comprised of citizens, community and business leaders and students will attend the three-day event to hear 20 presentations, participate in 30 interactive workshops, film screenings, book signings and an exhibit hall with more than 100 exhibitors.
Sen. Cruz was a popular presenter at last year’s Western Conservative Summit and won the Presidential Straw Poll, which was announced on the last day of the Summit.
Cruz and Palin will join two more potential presidential candidates at the Summit in Gov. Bobby Jindal, (R-LA) and Dr. Ben Carson, the famed neurosurgeon and open critic of President Obama and his Affordable Care Act.
Also speaking will be U.S. Senators Mike Lee (R-UT); Tim Scott (R-SC); Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN); former South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, now president of The Heritage Foundation; former Florida Rep. Allen West (U.S. Army Ret.); and British Parliamentarian Daniel Hannan along with other renowned policy makers, media celebrities and entertainers headlining the 2014 Western Conservative Summit.
Andrews said, "Colorado is the political epicenter right now. The Clintons just came here, but this Summit isn't about that kind of partisan politics, it's about freedom. We'll have the who's who of conservatism working together all weekend to help America be its best."
Entertainment will be provided by world-class singer Anthony Kearns, who is a member of The Irish Tenors and has performed for three U.S. presidents; performance painter David Garibaldi; performance poet Shawn Welcome; and Denver’s own The Silhouettes, a dance group which was named runner-up on the sixth season of America’s Got Talent national television program.
